On Tuesday, November 19, students who played a fall sport for Methuen High School gathered in the MHS Auditorium for the annual Fall Athletic Awards Night. Mr. Curran, Athletic Director, started off the night with a brief introduction and presented the major Merrimack Valley Conference (MVC) awards. 

Kyra Donahue was named MVC 2 Swimmer of the Year and Claudia Crowe was named Field Hockey MVC 2 Player of the Year for the second year in a row. 

Coach Jason Smith was named Swim and Dive MVC 2 Coach of the Year, while Girls Volleyball Coach Matt Twomey received MVC 1 Coach of the Year. Field Hockey Coach Kristen Swales won MVC 2 Coach of the Year honors, as well. Methuen/Tewksbury Swimmer Caleb Canavan won State Champion honors and Lex Flores was a runner-up at the States meet. 

The Field Hockey team and Swim and Dive team picked up the MVC Champions title this season. The Volleyball team earned the Sportsmanship Award for the MVC after playing 16 straight away games, along with the Swim and Dive team who also received the Sportsmanship Award. Swimmer Samantha DeNaro was also recognized by the MIAA for her impressive sportsmanship. 

After the initial major MVC awards were presented, coaches began to take the stage to present their season recaps and individual awards. The awards were as follows:

The banquet ended in a brief closing, congratulating all award winners, coaches, and teams for their accomplishments.
