Editor-In-Chief: Salma Boulal

Salma Boulal is a senior at Methuen High School and she is the Editor-in-Chief for the Blue and White. She became a part of the Blue and White staff during her freshman year. Salma is also involved in Mock Trial, NHS, BIPOC Club, and the Multicultural Club. The Blue and White allows her to pursue her passion for writing. Salma hopes to major in political science in the future on a pre-law track. Her favorite subject is history and her favorite teacher is Ms. Nunes.

Digital Media Editor: Crystal Castro

Crystal Castro is a sophomore and this is her second year as a Blue and White staff member. She enjoys writing in arts and entertainment. She joined the Blue and White because she is passionate about getting involved in the school community. Crystal’s favorite thing about the Blue and White is creative liberty and the opportunity to learn about certain aspects of Methuen High through reading peers’ articles. Her favorite subject is English and her favorite teachers are Mr. Bellistri and Dr. Kahn.

Staff Advisor: Mr. John McKenna

Mr. McKenna is in his eighth year of teaching English at Methuen High School. This is his fourth year as the Blue & White’s faculty advisor.

Mr. McKenna majored in communications as an undergraduate at Quinnipiac University, with a concentration in broadcast journalism. He moved on to receive his Master’s in teaching from Northeastern University in 2015. With this background in communications and English, he was thrilled to take on the role of Journalism teacher at MHS in 2016.

This website, along with the physical newspaper, is student-led and designed, with Mr. McKenna serving as an editor and advisor.
