Meet the Editors!

Senior Crystal Castro

Crystal is a grade 12 student looking to become a medical scientist with specialization in immunology. She currently serves as The Blue and White’s editor-in-chief and has been involved for the entirety of her high school career, since 2021. Crystal first became interested in the school newspaper because she intends to minor in English in college and wants to remain informed about events in the school community. Crystal also serves as senior officer of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Club, president of Science National Honor Society, historian of National Honor Society, and a member of Asian Cultural Awareness Club.

Senior Sloan Farrell

Sloan is a grade 12 student planning to become a civil engineer. She has been in The Blue & White since 2023 as a staff member and now serves as the features editor. Her interest in the The Blue & White began with the fun of the investigation and interview process that comes before writing and grew as she matured as a writer. Sloan is also involved with the Italian Club, Science Club as President, Yearbook Club, Photo Club, and Robotics Clun. 

Senior Emma Lam

Emma is a grade 12 student aiming to become a UI Designer. She has been in the Blue & White since her freshman year, and has now become the Arts & Entertainment Editor. She became interested in the Blue & White Newspaper club because her sister was in the club during their high school years, and she wanted to help design the layout for the newspaper. She’s also in the National Art Honors Society, National Honors Society, Asian Cultural Awareness Club, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color Club, and the Theater Club Stage Door 22. 

Senior Joshua Najeeullah

Josh is a senior who has been involved in the Blue & White for the past two years. He joined the club to inform people about Methuen High’s incredible sports program. His favorite aspect of the club is the creative freedom to showcase the best parts of our school. He is also involved in Asian Cultural Awareness as club treasurer, DECA, and peer leaders. Josh is interested in pursuing biotechnology at a four-year university and his favorite subject is science. 

Sophomore Kaylie Lam

Kaylie is a sophomore who is hoping to pursue something in the medical field. She has been a part of the Blue and White for two years, serving as the Opinion Editor this year. Kaylie joined the Blue and White because of her love for writing. She is also a member of Student Council, HOSA, and the Sophomore Class Officers. 

Sophomore Sophia Polit

Sophia is a grade 10 student who hopes to become a pediatric psychologist or professional photographer. She has been a part of the Blue and White for 2 years now, and joined because of her love for photography and writing, as well as just enjoying being involved all throughout the school. Sophia is also involved with Stage Door 22 as an assistant stage manager, Photo Club, HOSA as historian, Books and Bagels, Women’s Choir, and Resonance, an A Capella group.
